Starting in Copenhagen and ending at Paris' Champs-Elysees, the most high-profile race of the year goes through 21 stages — 15 more than the first edition did, in 1903.

UAE Team Emirates rider Tadej Pogacar, who is aiming for his third consecutive victory, has said he is feeling fresh and confident for a race he can't wait to start.

Here are the dates and schedule for the Tour de France 2022, along with the full list of teams and riders.

Tour de France end stage 2022 The race begins on July 1 and ends in Paris on July 24, when riders will be expected to cross the finishing line at around 7.26 p.m. local time (6.26 p.m. BST/1.26 p.m. ET).

The Champs-Elysees will provide the finishing stretch again, as it has done since 1975.

Tour de France teams and riders 2022 There are 22 teams in the 2022 Tour de France, with eight riders per team for a total of 176 cyclists in the field.

Last year, Bahrain Victorious won the team classification, ending a run of three straight victories by Movistar Team.
