remote workshop facilitation prep for miro
Given the current pandemic situation there`s understandably a lot of great information available on remote working. I read a question today on linkedin about Miro facilitation tips for new people and responded, it served as a reminder of some steps I have found useful.
For miro I found it useful to: Check and share browsers that best support- so to prep attendees https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017572814-Supported-Browsers
Create a bit of an intro 101 based on what you will need people to do. eg. If attendees to be able to create sticky notes and drag them around, create a a simple frame to show them how to do this to show at the start of the workshop.
Better still- Create an intro activity based on what you are expecting the attendees to do- eg, if people need to create sticky notes, write and move them around, create an activity up front to mirror this which can be used as simple introduction & get people familiar with miro before moving onto the workshop activities. A simple box and instruction to drag a note and write your name may suffice.
Lock areas of the screen you dont want attendees to be able to move- can get messy otherwise.
That's just the very first steps, thinking around people who may have not used Miro before.
