Bored piles

Bored piles are a very effective, state-of-the-art construction element with many applications in foundation and civil engineering.

Illustration of bored piles Common uses as substantial foundations, securing deep excavation, particularly in close proximity to existing structures, and stabilizing and retaining slopes In a variety of infrastructure projects such as tunnelling, road or bridge construction as well as flood protection Retain ground alongside an excavation pit or close to adjacent buildings, often combined with other techniques such as ground anchors or soil nails

For slope stabilisation to prevent landslides, or protect existing buildings

Process Specialized instruments are used to drill out the soil and install a temporary casing. Additional casing or drilling fluid can be used if the hole needs support to stay open. The hole is then stuffed with concrete after the full length of reinforcing steel is lowered into it. Bored piles have typical diameters of up to 2.4 meters and can be drilled to depths greater than 60 meters.

Advantages Very large capacity for load Various diameters available from 450mm upwards able to be installed in a variety of rock and soil conditions Minimal settlement and deformation. Check out Strauss pile Manual.

Minimum vibration Quality assurance Top down and integrity testing, bottom bidirectional pile load tests, and digital recording and logging of the execution parameters are some of the quality assurance methods we employ for our products. Currently we only offer Bored Piles in Indonesia.
